WORD: Landscapes of Self-Care
Design Biotop is an experimental platform for discussing space and its autonomy in a very open form. Design Biotop considers architecture within concepts of “created spaces”, whether they are conceptual, spatial, mental or otherwise.
We are often unaware that, in the same way as the outer world is designed, we also create our inner worlds, understandings and perceptions. Space, in our vision, is much more than our physical environment, so we approach it with discussions around emotions and other concepts of limitation and understanding. We find there is still a possibility to critically question today’s territories, freedom, togetherness, autonomy and our ability to overcome obstacles that create a mental state of thought and its ecology towards being able to dream and visualize endless possibilities.
Design Biotop is starting a podcast, WORD, to host discussions on care and self-care with individuals who are shaping new understandings of wellbeing in these uncertain times.

Design Biotop is an experiential and discussion platform that explores the problem-solving and trans-disciplinary nature of design, and promotes a design thinking mindset, together with its impact on social, political and economic challenges by developing grass-roots projects promoting interdisciplinary connections and collaborations. All Design Biotop events call for action from all levels of society, and strive to nurture active participation, where individuals could learn from direct experience, co-working and open sharing.
